Terms of Service
What you get when you use Muster, what Muster does with access to your repositories, and how billing and account deletion work.
What Muster is
Muster reads the pull requests merged across the repositories you connect, drafts one changelog for a release with a language model, and waits for a person on your account to approve it. Every entry cites the pull requests it came from, with a literal excerpt that is checked against the source.
Your account
You sign in with GitHub. The account has one owner, who handles billing, roles and invites; other people can be invited to approve releases or only to review them. Nothing is published without someone who holds the approve role pressing publish.
Access to your repositories
- Muster connects through a GitHub App that asks for two read-only permissions: Metadata and Pull requests. It does not ask for repository contents.
- Muster reads the title, description and commits of merged pull requests. Reading a pull request's diff is off by default and has to be turned on per repository, with an explicit confirmation.
- Muster writes nothing back to GitHub: no commits, no pull requests, no branch changes.
- You choose which repositories the app can see, and you can revoke that access on GitHub at any time.
Generated text
Drafts are written by a language model reached through OpenRouter. A draft is a proposal: it only becomes public after a person on your account reviews and approves it, and the review screen shows which pull request each line came from.
Plans and billing
The Free plan has no charge. Paid plans are priced per connected repository, as listed in the pricing section of the home page. Payments are handled by Stripe: Muster never sees or stores your card number, and changing or cancelling a paid plan happens in Stripe's billing portal.
Deleting your account
The account owner can delete the account from Settings. Access ends at once and published changelogs go offline, and their RSS and JSON feeds answer 410 Gone. The audit log of what was published, and the releases it refers to, are kept — the screen lists exactly what stays and why before you confirm.
Still to be defined
- The legal entity that provides Muster, and the governing law.
- Liability, warranties and service levels.
- How changes to these terms are announced.
